TPE for overmolding and coextrusion

Leading manufacturers of thermoplastic elastomers with excellent chemical adhesion

Chemiton 2K® represents the group of TPE compounds manufactured for overmolding, injection molding (also recovery) and coextrusion. This technique allows creating products consisting of a rigid and a soft part without the need for adhesives, primers or other surface pretreatments, guaranteeing the efficiency of the production process.

Chemiton 2K® thermoplastic elastomers for co-molding are developed using a bi-injection press for samples which are then subjected to an adhesion test that measures the force required to separate the rigid part from the soft one.

TPE for adhesion onto polyolefins

Chemiton 2k® TPE compounds for overmolding are manufactured to perfectly adhere to polyolefins. They are available in a wide range of hardness and densities, being suitable for various industries. Available in many versions approved for food contact, these materials have excellent chemical adhesion to PP (also loaded), PE, EVA, PS and POE.

Their high ergonomics, flexibility and shock absorption capacity make these thermoplastic elastomers extremely suitable for the production of industrial swivel wheels, tool handles, mask seals, toothbrushes, razors and other personal care items.

A specific series has also been developed for products used in the world of sailing and diving such as diving fins, snorkeling equipment and sports goggles.

TPE for adhesion onto technopolymers

These SEBS-based TPE compounds have been developed for injection molding (including recovery) and coextrusion on technopolymers such as PC, ABS, PC/ABS, SAN, ASA, PBT, PETG, PMMA and PPSU. They have excellent chemical adhesion to PA, PA6, PA66 (also with loaded fiberglass).

Chemiton 2K® thermoplastic elastomers developed to adhere to technopolymers are available in a wide range of hardness and densities and have considerable mechanical features, allowing them to be used in various sectors including electrical, industrial, automotive, household and sports.
