TPE for Injection Molding and Co-Extrusion
Thermoplastic elastomers with excellent chemical adhesion
Chemiton 2K® represents the family of TPE compounds developed for injection molding (also recovery) and co-extrusion. This technique allows the production of products composed of a rigid part and a soft part without the need for adhesives, primers or other surface pretreatments, ensuring efficiency in the manufacturing process.
The thermoplastic elastomers for molding Chemiton 2K® are developed using a bi-injection press, producing test specimens that are then subjected to an adhesion test measuring the force required to separate the rigid part from the soft one.
Overmolding on technopolymers: PC, ABS, SAN, PC/ABS, PETG, POM, PA6, PA66 (including fiberglass reinforced)
Overmolding on polar plastics: PMMA, PBT, PC, and styrenics
Adhesion evaluation according to VDI 2019 standards
TPE for Adhesion to Polyolefins
The Chemiton 2K® compounds developed for adhesion to polyolefins are available in a wide range of hardnesses and densities, allowing their use in various sectors. Available in many versions approved for food contact, these materials have excellent chemical adhesion to PP (also filled), PE, EVA, PS and POE.
Thanks to their high ergonomics, flexibility, and shock absorption capabilities, these TPE compounds are particularly suitable for manufacturing castor wheels, tool handles, seals for masks, toothbrushes, razors, and other personal care items.
A specific series has also been developed for producing items for the nautical and diving industries, such as diving fin, snorkeling gear and sports goggles.
TPE for Adhesion to Technopolymers
These SEBS-based TPE compounds have been developed for injection molding (including recovery) and co-extrusion on technopolymers such as PC, ABS, PC/ABS, SAN, ASA, PBT, PETG, PMMA, and PPSU. They also exhibit excellent chemical adhesion to PA, PA6, and PA66 (including fiberglass reinforced).
Chemiton 2K® thermoplastic elastomers developed for adhesion to technopolymers are available in a wide range of hardness and density values, featuring remarkable mechanical properties, making them suitable for various sectors including electrical, industrial, automotive, household, and sports.
