A new extrusion line for the production of thermoplastic material arrives at the company
At the beginning of 2022, a new and efficient extruder was implemented in the company, equipped with a pair of 70 mm diameter screws optimized for the production of thermoplastic material. The production process starts with the introduction of raw materials into the extruder. These materials have different shapes and textures: they can be granules, powders, ground, liquid, flakes, fibers or microspheres. Inside the cylinder there is a first phase of transport and heating of the material, which is then melted with special working groups that create mixing chambers along the screws. The homogenized product is degassed to remove the volatile parts present before leaving the extruder permanently. Along the cylinder a system consisting of resistors and a cooling circuit keeps the temperature of the process area at the desired value.
Reduction of energy consumption and increase of production capacity
This extruder, as well as the entire production chain, is optimized to reduce energy consumption and, consequently, also the environmental impact.
